Case Study: Aviramp LtdPosted by ledmin on Mar 13, 2017 in Case Studies, Case Studies, News | 0 comments
Aviramp Ltd is an independent manufacturing business based in Telford, Shropshire.
The Aviramp ground support equipment off pier boarding ramps and bridges was initially driven by a request from Oslo Airport’s PRM providers some time ago. They recognized the need for change primarily down to their concerns for the ‘passenger experience’ and their desire to give dignity back to the disabled and the elderly, who were forced to use antiquated GSE equipment such as the ambulift. Although there are many types of GSE equipment currently available, Aviramp has delivered a ‘world first’ with its customized suite of patented products.
Through Aviramp’s collaborations with customers, they came up with standardized optional extras, and one of the most sought after was to add LED lighting to the boarding bridges. Aviramp contacted LED Illuminations in April 2013 looking for a low voltage LED linear light. The remit was for a linear light that would guide the passengers without being too bright. It also had to be a 12Vdc product to work directly with their current operating system.
We supplied them with our waterproof LED ribbon IP66 with 60 x 3528 type LED 12Vdc in cool white (6000K) in 5m lengths. This was fully reviewed and proved perfect for the application.
To accommodate the appetite for more tailored boarding bridges, we are able to make bespoke lengths to suit each individual application. Our waterproof LED ribbon comes with aluminum fixing clips as standard but can also be supplied with a ‘red’ adhesive tape if preferred. We can also have the LED ribbon manufactured with longer integral power cables to make installation easier.
The first order was shipped straight off to Qatar with subsequent orders going to airlines based around the world.
After a four year R&D period, Aviramp Ltd have gone from strength to strength and LED Illuminations (2009) Ltd wishes them all the best for the future and look forward to a long working relationship.
