LED Lighting at Cartier Store on Bond Street, London & Harrods in Knightsbridge

Christmas All Wrapped Up

Last year, 2019, LED Illuminations were thrilled to provide the LED lighting for the Christmas wrap on the exterior of the Cartier Store on Bond Street, London.

This year, this strange unpredictable year, London is continuing to be positive as we have not only provided the LED lighting for Cartier, Bond Street once again but Harrods in Knightsbridge have chosen LED Illuminations to supply the LED lighting to wrap some super-sized presents!

The store occupies a 5-acre site and has 330 departments covering 1.1 million sq ft of retail space. It is one of the largest and most famous department stores in Europe. Harrods has been operating from this site since 1849.  Beginning in a single room employing two assistants and a messenger boy, Harrod’s son Charles, built the business into a thriving retail operation selling medicines, perfumes, stationery, fruits and vegetables. Harrods rapidly expanded, acquired the adjoining buildings, and employed one hundred people by 1881.

We supplied a sample of our RGBW 6000K LED ribbon to Ingenius Productions who had to have the quality and colour approved by the store.  This was quickly done with a subsequent order being placed for 176m of IP65 RGBW (6000K) 24v in various lengths with red adhesive on the back for easy installation.

As with all these seasonal projects, time was of the essence, we not only had to provide a high-quality product manufactured to size but also supply it in a tight turn-around.

The products were supplied 7 days early allowing them to be built into the display and delivered to site on time.

The store will re-open after the latest lockdown on Thursday 3rd December but due to the pandemic there has been no official ‘Switching on’ ceremony of the Christmas lights in London in 2020.
