INGRESS PENETRATION.
The first number refers to the protection against solids whilst the second number refers to the protection against liquids.
11 – Protected against solid objects over 50mm and water falling vertically.
22 – Protected against solid objects over 12mm and direct sprays from up to 15 degrees from vertical.
33 – Protected against solid objects over 2.5mm and direct sprays up to 60 degrees from vertical.
44 – Protected against solid objects over 1mm and sprays from all directions.
55 – Protected against dust and low pressure jets of water from all directions.
66 – Totally protected against all dust and strong jets of water.
67 – Protected against temporary affects of immersion between 15cm & 1m for 30 minutes.
68 – Protected against long periods of immersion under pressure.
